My name is Örjan. The funny looking letter in the beginning of my name is a typical swedish letter. And yes, I am from Sweden. I thought I should try to write a blogg in english since I have a few friends that don't understand swedish.

So please, bear with me if I misspell, my grammar all f***ed up or I don't make sence. You could help me if you'd like by commenting my post and giving me feedback. All criticism is a way for me to be better.

What's this blogg about then? Well mostly my life in Sweden, my family and my little silly thoughts. My family? Yes I have one, even though I spend a lot of time here online. I have a girlfriend who I live with and two kids. A daughter, five years old and a son, six months old. The family also consists of a dog (english staffordshire bullterrier) and two cats. I live in a suburb of Stockholm, Swedens capital. I work at a security company receiving the security guards hold up alarms and distress calls. I only work nights and when it's slow I have time to surf the web and write here.

For those who never been to Sweden (I guess you're in majority here) I can tell you a little about the country. We are a relatively large country (by european standards) but we only have about 9 mil. inhabitants. The capital Stockholm is the most populated area and the second largest city is called Göteborg or Gothenburg in english. The north part of Sweden more rural and we have large forests and mountains. Sweden borders to Finland, Norway and Denmark. We are never affected by natural disasters because our location is in the middle of the tectonic plate and far from earthquake zones. We are fairly safe from hurricanes and tsunamis would need a GPS to find our shores. But knock on wood...

We have a good social saftey net with almost free health care and good unemployment welfare. But are there nothing bad about Sweden then? Of course there are. The taxes (just about 30% on ANY income), the winter and the darkness at winter are a few things that sometimes make me dream about moving. But then comes summer and everything is forgotten and I never wanna move. The swedish summers are magic with midnight sun, the remarkable light and the beautiful people.

I think this will do for my first post here and I hope that at least someone comments so I know if I should continue or not.
